Hello,
Flash animation is not showing up. Thumbnail loads (jpg) and appears. What is the relationship between the thumbnail and animation file?
Regards,
Jules
The thumbnail appeared on the site, but doesn't play when you click it? Is that what is happening? (Or am I misunderstanding your problem?)
Doc, yes that is what is happening. Is there any trick to the thumbnail location or in its making?
No. not really. I see that on your home page 11 animations are listed, but no thumbnails show up. Have you checked (in "edit my animations") to see if you might have inadvertenly marked them "Private" or "Mature"?
They are private as I'm trying to resolve playing quality (junky) issues.I will make the test Flash Public.
Edit: PS. I can play the listed private animations and see them. The MT playback is "watery" and not acceptable for publishing.
Unable to load FLV files. The MT SWF window doesn't see FLV files and the MT's Movie window uploads FLV but plays audio only (without thumbnail )..... I'm getting scratchy:)
Edit: PS I can upload same files to 'Wordpress' and get acceptable playback (at a smaller screen size than MT)
I've downloaded my 30 day Demo of Flash 9 and made many SWf's that play happily locally- But no luck with uploads to Mytoons.
Maybe I'm dense.
As I upload to numerous disappointments at Mytoons, the words "If you can play it on your computer it will play on the Mytoons player" rattles around in my brain. Or did I make that notion up?
I can achieve on Mytoons (1) A blank white silent playback or (2) A cropped and off centre movie out of sync ( imbedded flv-Adobe warns of this consequence) or(3) no image but sound.
I haven't got time to stuff around with SWF's or learning the finer points of Flash.
Maybe some "upload protocols" in the help section, particularly for 2D animators using pixels, would be a good move?
All the best,
Jules.
> made many SWf's that play happily locally ...
We like happy anims, in any locale. :)
A puzzler, this - swfs are usually prettysmall. would you consider emailing one to me for testing here?
thumbs up!
A week or so back, we discovered that some swf upload failures were resulting from the member not adding a thumbnail image for the animation or game in the appropriate place in the upload wizard.
It may prove useful to make it clearer that this step is mandatory (or perhaps to automate it, as is the case with bitmap format uploads.) In the meantime, it seems possible that this was your problem.
