This thread is about the assessment criteria for assignment 1 in NM1.
You should all make at least one post to this thread.
The assessment criteria from previous years are posted below. Please comment and suggest other criteria that you think are appropriate. You will use the critical framework that emerges to peer-critique each others work.
Assignment 1 : Interactive Aphorism is assessed on how well it:
• Demonstrates an ability to design interactivity.
• Demonstrates an ability to engineer interactivity using Flash.
• Demonstrates an ability to reflect critically on computer-based interactivity.
• Meets the key technical parameters (see the unit outline).
Will there be any penalty for exceeding the 2min time limit?
Further, I assume that the user must be able to interact with the aphorism? Or, can the user just watch?
i dont think the user should just watch, they should be interacting while reflecting what the aphorism is trying to communicate. also i think it should be visually attractive and indicates clearly how the user is meant to interact.
hey all,
just curious aobut some stuff, how does one upload a video you've watched from the net?? like if i watch an animation clip on a website to i have to download it first to my computer and then upload it or is there another way??
This is a thread on Assessment Criteria.
Please post questions about uploads to the appropriate thread.
From what I have read, read week 4's lecture, theres some good stuff in there, it should help us out.
Point 1: Interaction is necessary, either through using the mouse or keyboard. Which way would be preferred? I'm tihnking mouse would be easier

hi fordracing
this is a thread on assessment criteria not interactive aphorism
in the thread on interactive aphorism can you describe how the question of mouse v keyboard relates to interaction design as described in lecture 4 ?

All I can think to add to the assessment criteria is, how well the way you interact reflects the aphorism.
Considering the screen size, perhaps something on how well the area has been utilised
I don't really know what to add to the criteria, it seemes good to me. I really think that the 'Demonstrates an ability to reflect critically on computer-based interactivity' is important. It's hard to give (and get) critique, and I really think that giving (and getting) constructive critique it's a good way of practice on this.
Subject
Not sure if it'd be covered by point 3 or even just presumed, but I assume that actually/effectively representing the aphorism with the interactive piece is an important factor for assessment.
