Actually, now the new catalog doesn't discuss this. Oh well, I guess that helps me make my decision. Either it didn't work out or they currently don't have mentors for people working in 2D.
my first mentor was a 2d guy not 3d...there were very few students doing 2d and most seemed to end up doing 3d...some would do 3d one project, 2d another....the principles apply to both so mentors can critique both 2d and 3d...id call them to confirm

3D is not so much for me...

The school advertises that you can work in your medium of choice, but is anyone out there doing that and if so, how's it working for you?
I'm interested more in 2D than 3D, with a mix of traditional hand-drawn (well, using Mirage) and Flash with some After Effects thrown in for good measure. Most of the work I see on their site is using their Maya creations.
I am so tempted to do this program, but as an illustrator/comics guy, 3D doesn't interest me as much for the character animation. I got accepted into a couple of programs in Vancouver (as to other programs, I just couldn't face living in LA, I couldn't stand it), but the cost of a year away monetarily and personally may be too much. If I weren't married and didn't have a dog, it might be an easier thing to consider.
