Embedding & Sharing
How can I share my animations with a friend? You have a variety of options, actually:
-
Your Page - Your page is probably the most obvious place for you to post your work.
Go to your navigation bar, select Upload, and enter your information.
Once uploaded, your work will be automatically displayed on your page and in the Animation category.
-
Messages - Ready? Follow me: Home, My Page, Messages. Now, choose who you want
to share with, fill in your information and add attachments to the right.
-
Groups - First, you'll need to be a member of a group. Once you are a member of
the group, you can either Add an animation or embed one.
- To "Add" an animation, you simply look under the "Animation" heading, and you should see the option to "Add Animation." From here, it's really easy; just click the animation that you want to add, and you are done!
- If you want to embed an animation from outside of MyToons, that animation must be hosted somewhere online (if you had it on your computer, you would simply Upload it and Add it). Anywhere that hosts videos online should have a URL posted. Copy that URL, and paste it into the body of the thread you have created and/or will create now. Click "Create," and it should display!
- If you want to embed an animation from within MyToons, you just need to click the little "Share" icon beneath said animation, choose the size you want, copy the code, and paste it within the group. Lookatchya go now!
Can I share my animations and link to them from another one of my websites or blogs outside of MyToons? As a matter of fact, you may! Wherever you are, if you are watching an animation, there should be a row of icons beneath the animation player. The third icon is a happy looking little creature with arms outstretched, ready to share - it's even labeled "Share". Next, click on the Embed tab, choose the size that you would like to embed, copy the code, and paste it wherever you would like to share it!
What does "embedding" mean? When you embed something, you are taking a special code containing the object and placing it on your web page, blog, and other places on the internet. This tells the computer to show the object wherever you put this special HTML code.
How do I embed an animation? Go to the animation player page, click the "Share" icon, the "Embed" tab, pick a size, copy the code, and paste it wherever you like.
Can my animation that is embedded be made to auto play? No, Sorry guys.
Can I embed a private animation? No, because you selected it as "Private" when you uploaded it, you have categorized it as an animation that you did not want to share with everyone. To enable embedding, you can edit your animation's status to "Public." To do this, head over to the "Edit My Stuff" tab on your profile page.
Can I embed my Artwork or Flash Game? You sure can! Go to the artwork's page, click the "Share" icon, the "Embed" tab, pick a size, copy the code, and paste it wherever you like.
Can I email animations and artwork to a friend? Heck yes! Click the Share icon, then the Email tab. Enter your name, your friend's name and email, and spread the love!
Can I share animations through a social bookmarking site? Absolutely! Click the "share" button, and under the "bookmark" tab you'll find a few different social bookmarking icons. Social bookmarking systems are for users like you to bookmark your favorite sites. So if you have one – say, a Del.icio.us account – find the icon and it will post it to your list.
