a short film from Russia made by Yuri Norstein in 1979 that was proclaimed by many to be the best animated film of all time. Deeply rooted in Russian history, myth and sensibility, the film follows a little grey wolf, a common figure in Russian folklore, as he moves through memories of childhood and war. Yuri used handmade figures that were shot on multiple panes of glass, and to this day refuses to involve computers in his animation process.
