zardan, there are tons of sand animations out there and there are some incredibly creative ones. Check out David Myriam. He has some really cool sand stuff. http://www.tramage.com/ or just put his name in youtube.

jenne, with sand we had to work on top of a light table and put sand on it with a camera overhead. thats pretty much it. it was one of the messiest animation experiences too. i had sand under my fingernails and in my teeth when i finished. its a really frustrating medium to work with but good to at least experiment with

hehe - those look like brain clouds (does anybody get my film reference? Tom Hanks, anyone? No? Oh well). Watching this is kinda soothing - mellow yellow and the music and all that.

first ever sand animation I have seen. Nicely done, because this turn out to be a pretty nice stop motion animation.
